RANLO - Linda Diane Spirlin Usik, 64, of 59 Love Street, died Nov. 8, 2009, at Carolinas Medical Center. 

A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late James Dommer and Janie Hoffman Spirlin. 

She was a member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Maggie 
Sutton Spirlin and Plato Spirlin, Edna Childers Huffman and Ervin Huffman. 

Mrs. Usik is survived by her husband, Paul Anthony Usik; son, Richard Usik of Ranlo; daughter, Amanda Brooks of Ranlo; two brothers, Danny Spirlin and Larry Spirlin, both of Gastonia; aunt, Loretta Forbes and husband Bill of Gastonia; four grandchildren, Tylor Hughes, Chad Hughes, Cameron Hughes and Kimberly Hughes. 

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Hoffman officiating. 

Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park. 

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
