Class of 1964 50th reunion
The following events are planned for the reunion scheduled for June 6 - 8, 2014:
Friday, June 6th - 5:00pm - 8:00pm Picnic at Rankin Lake Park catered with BBQ and beverages in the covered shelters by the lake. No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the park.
Saturday, June 7th - Tour of Ashley Arms Apartments (former Ashley HS). Gather at 9:30am for group picture on front steps and then tour at 10:00am. No parking on Ashley Arms property. Park at Rodi's restaurant, Holy Trinity Lutheran church, or other public parking.
Saturday, June 7th - 6:00pm - 10:00pm - Buffet Dinner and DJ at the Gastonia Conference Center located at the corner of Franklin Avenue and Marietta Street. A Buffet dinner will be catered beginning at 7:00pm and a cash bar available for alcoholic beverages. A group picture will be taken during this event. Free parking in the conference center deck or across the street at the Wells Fargo bank or First Methodist church lots.
Sunday, June 8th - Remembrance/Worship service at 10:00am in the Chapel of First United Methodist Church located near the Gastonia Conference Center.
Reunion cost: $65.00 per person total for weekend. Mail checks to "AHS Class of 1964 Reunion" P.O. Box 6318 Gastonia, NC 28056. Your check will be your receipt.

More reunion details:
A photographer will be taking random photos during the reunion events in addition to the two group photos. Photos will be uploaded to this website following the reunion and you can download any you wish to have. For those who prefer, you can order a CD that includes all of the pictures. The fee for the CD that will be mailed to you is $12.00 which must be paid in exact change or check (no credit cards) at the Saturday evening event. A form will be provided to accompany your payment.
Parking for Ashley Arms tour: Class members will be available with signs to facilitate parking and special handicap needs. There is no parking allowed on the Ashley Arms property. Please park at the Rodi's restaurant, the Holy Trinity Lutheran church, or other public street parking.
Lodging: a block of rooms has been reserved at the Hampton Inn on Remount Rd for $79.00 per night. The reservation cutoff date for this class discount is May 23rd.
Barbara Myers has issued an open invitation to party at her house following the Rankin Lake picnic. This will be a BYOB event and open to all who attend the reunion. Her address is 906 Ravenglass Turn in the Heatherlock subdivision.
The TAMS band will be appearing at the Gastonia Rotary Pavilion off Main street beginning at 8:00pm so this is another option for after Rankin Lake.
Dress code: Friday events will be very casual as we will be outdoors. Saturday and Sunday events should be "business casual". No coats and ties, but appropriate slacks and dresses.
Several former teachers have been contacted and invited to attend Saturday evening. Please spend some time with those who attend.
