Dad's Obituary:
Eugene Austin Reese, Jr certainly led an exotic life. Born to Frances and Eugene Reese, Sr in Columbia, SC in 1950, little “Peewee” was precocious, inventive and entertaining to his four younger siblings Eddie Reese, Terry Reese, Mary Reese and Nancy Hall. Gene was a 1968 graduate of Ashley High School in Gastonia before attending UNCChapel Hill where he became a lawyer, a businessman and what he would call a “thinker”. Unquestionably, he had a lifelong love of stories both reading and telling them. Gene’s own story was captivating and one worth sharing. His career took him on adventures through five of the seven continents, circumnavigating the globe over sixteen times. Along the way he showed the world to four lovely children Laura, Austin, Claire and Sanders and delighted in five perfect grandchildren Elijah, Nyla, Leo, Max and Karma. Gene passed away the afternoon of June 22nd at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC. In the end he was surrounded by love, memories and peace.
We invite you to join us in a lively celebration to toast Gene’s lifetime adventures with friends and family at Riverside Raw Bar from 2:00 to 4:00pm on Sunday, June 28, 2015. Memorials in his honor may be made to the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, Hospice and Community Center in Rock Hill, SC.
