Denise (Edgar) Micek

Denise E. Micek, 69, formerly of Syracuse, N.Y. passed away Friday May 11, 2012 at noon at the Country Healthcare Center in Gifford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, at the St Matthew Catholic Church 1303 Lincolnshire Drive, Champaign with Monsignor Mark Merdian officiating. Inurnment will take place in Syracuse, New York at a later date.

Memorial (befitting her love for teaching and education) should be directed to the Denise Edgar Micek Memorial Scholarship Fund at the School of Education at Syracuse University, 230 Huntington Hall Syracuse, New York 13244 or the Alzheimer's Association.

She is surived by her husband, Sidney S. Micek, her mother, Gladys Edgar of Gering and sons, Robert (Traci) Micek of Buffalo, Grove and March (Sandra)Micek of McLean, Va; daughter, Marcy (Paul) Baker of Jamesvill, N.Y. and grandchildren.
