Maxium ‘Max’ Charles

Max Meisner, 67, of Gering, passed away at his home Thursday, Jan. 6, 2013. 

His memorial service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Neugebauer officiating.  Inurnment will be at the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery at Alliance with military honors.  A memorial has been established to the family to be designated at a later date.  Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.geringchapel.com.  Gering Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Max was born on May 13, 1945 in Scottsbluff to Fred and Anna (Kramer) Meisner. He graduated from Gering High School in 1963.  He entered the U.S. Army in 1964 and served overseas in places such as Germany, Holland and Spain.  He was honorably discharged in 1970.

He was married to Carryl Bartine from 1968 to 1975 from this union two sons were born Erik and Brant, they made their home in Arvada, Colo.  He later married Elizabeth Ann Nelson from 1977 to 1980 from this union a daughter was born Kristine.

Survivors include his sons Erik Meisner and wife Julia, Brant Meisner and wife Megan; daughter Kristine Mata and husband Hector; grandchildren Adrian, Anna, Abby, Nicholas, Caroline and Gavin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Elizabeth Ann, brothers Freddy, Ted and Robert and sister Irene Roth.
