Obituary
STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Daniel D. Rogers, age 71, died on Monday, May 9, 2016, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. The Scottsbluff, Nebraska, native attended the University of Nebraska and lived in Nebraska for many years before moving to Bulloch County in 1980. He worked as an irrigation contractor for Lockwood Corporation, traveling to the Middle East.
Mr. Rogers was retired from EEC Contracting as a construction contractor.
He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Lewis Rogers; and a brother, Thomas L. Rogers.
Surviving is his spouse of 36 years, Sheila Schwartz Rogers of Statesboro; three children, Daniel Scott (Cathy) Rogers of Statesboro, Jennifer (Jeff) Sorrell of Downingtown, Pa.; and Jamie (Alex) Osorio of Yorba Linda, Calif.; a sister, Mary Ann (Doug) Schleicher of Gering, Neb.; and eight grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30459; or to the charity of the donor's choice.
