John, he was voted as most likely to fall down while receiving his diploma. We first saw him when he came to Valley View from John Hole Elementary in Centerville, Ohio. He participated in track, cross country, chess club, drama club, and many other activities. He stood out the most in Knowledge Masters and the inter-school traveling trivia team. He loved sports, had a notable baseball card collection, and went by “RBI” on pre-Internet computer networks. After a year at the University of Missouri, Rolla, he attended the University of Cincinnati, University of Miami (MUM), and graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of Miami (Oxford) before obtaining a Cisco CCNP certification. His son Christopher was born with wife Julie before moving to Columbus, Ohio. He embarked on an uncanny journey through telecom jobs, working at Lucent and MCI, earning his Cisco CCNP certification. John later married Colleen and had another son, Mason. After the end of a contract with Discover card services, while looking for work, John contracted Hodgkin’s lymphoma and died within a month. Outlived by his mother and estranged older brother, he leaves behind Julie, Christopher, Colleen, Mason, and friends. We will miss his nickname “goD” in trivia matches, sayings of “blark” as an uncommon exclamation in the halls, memories of his packed lunches with thermos in the cafeteria, his Sundance and his Chevette, and articles and comics in the school newspaper by “The Rat”.
