Kathleen "Kay" C. (Klammer) Spear,68, of Marlborough died Saturday (April 24,2010) at Marlborough Hills Health Care Center after a brief illness. She leaves her husband of 40 years Quincy A. Spear . a son Christopher a. Spear and his wife Emily of Frederick, MD. Her sister Amey A. Scannell of Dennis, a brother Alan D. Klammer of Plymouth, her stepmother Patricia (Hunt) Klammer of South Harwich and several nieces and nephews. She was born in San Francisco, CA daughter of the late William and Ruthe (Garvin) Klammer and has lived in Marlborough for most of her life. Kay was a graduate of Northfield School for Girls and also graduated from Moravian College in Bethlehem,PA with a BA in Spanish Education.. She has been a teacher in the Marlborough School system for 23 years, teaching at the Jaworek, Richer, Middle High Schools. Previously she worked at Sears Roebuck & Co. in Natick. She was involved in the Boy Scouts, Marlborough Youth Soccer and the Marlborough Emergency Management Agency. Growing up she spent her summers in Harwich and she enjoyed swimming, gardening and travel.. She liked art and was an avid reader and loved to Knit. Above all, Kay loved her family and loved teaching.
