Brook was funny. In some ways he was such a tight little conservative and other ways he was pretty wild and crazy. I worked for him for 3 years at El Toro, his evil plot to dominate the world of landscaping. He tried to be such a tough guy and he was strong as an ox but he had a very soft and funny side too. he would pull his van up next to old ladies walking down the street and ask "which way to the Pickle factory"? in a little kid's voice that was so convincing they would usually try to answer his question seriously. Me and Danny Lynch would try not to bust out laughing too soon. But Brook was very serious about his business. He always said he was going to kill himself if he didnt make a million dollars by the time he was 30, and I never could tell if he was joking. Until finding this site I wondered if thats what happened to him, but I'm glad to hear it wasnt.

My dad died in a car accident August 21, 1992 leaving being my mom Julia and four kids; myself, my brother Luke, and my two sisters Amanda and Allie. My mom and him were high school sweethearts and were married shortly after their high school graduation. Then came the kids! Luke is 26 and he is the oldest and Allie is the youngest Rosenzweig child at 19.

Our dad ran a successful landscaping and brick laying business up until the day he died. He was artistic, he loved music, and he would sing with us kids every night at dinner. He loved Elvis, Dean Martin, and the Judds. We laughed and loved being together as a family when my dad came home from work. He was the greatest dad who loved having a big family and he thought his kids were wonderful.

It was very hard on everyone but we remember that our dad had a great sense of humor,he was generous and motivated, and he loved us all very much. It has been about 18 years and we still love him and miss him every day.

We were young when he died and so it is so great to be able to see the things other people remember about him too. The stories we never got to hear mean so much to us. Thank you!

I grew up with Brook in Glencoe and worked for El Toro for a short period of time. Though my work habits would sometimes frustrate him, I always remember him as a guy with a big smile, a big heart, and a guy who became an adult way before I did.
