As I remember Gary, he was one of the class of 68 "bad boys". He seemed to wear black leather jackets a lot, was kind of the James Dean of our era.

Despite that image, Gary was always nice to me.

May he rest in peace.

I barely knew Gary Ray. My impression at the time, was that he was an 18 year old kid looking for his identity, as we all were.

I heard through friends who lived North of Bethany Home Road in Glendale proper, that Gary had died pulling a woman and her child out of a burning car after an automobile accident.

This may be very accurate, or not, as it was hearsay. I am certain Ralph Ciancio, or John Brown could supply the full story, or perhaps Maynard Fronda.

There is little doubt in my mind, that Gary spent his life in a selfless act, and it cost him all the years not to come.

That is by definition heroism.

All respect, GARY! We are living our years with you and our other classmates and friends in mind.

Life Is But A Dream,

Chuck

As I remember he was the "cool" guy but never unkind to me. Probably even unlocked the top locker for the short girl once or twice. His loss serves as a reminder for us all, don't put things off until later, Later may not come!
