Handal, Joseph M. "Joey" Entered into the fullness of Eternal Life on March 25, 2009, at the age of 36. Resident of Glendale. Devoted and beloved husband of Amie A. (nee Scharnek) for eight wonderful years. Cherished son of Bob and Noel (nee Kashou). Adored brother of Michael and Jason (Robin) Handal and their three children, Robert, Ben and Matthew. Treasured grandson of Azizeh and the late Salem Kashou. Caring son-in-law of Geraldine Basile (Joseph) and brother-in-law of Matthew. Dear nephew of Heyam (Suhail) Elias, John (Pat) Kashou, George (Pat) Kashou, Bob (Sandy) Kashou, and Elias (Graciella) Handal. He is further survived by many other relatives and good friends. Joe was larger than life. He was taken from us too early. To know him was to love him. Joe always brightened the room with his sense of humor and magnetic personality. He meant many things to many people and leaves a void that will be difficult to fill. Visitation will be held at the Feerick Funeral Home on Sunday, March 29, from 2:00 PM until a time for reflections at 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Eugene's Catholic Church, 7600 N. Port Washington Rd., in Fox Point, on Monday, March 30, at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park. If desired, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. If sending flowers, plants that may live on in his memory would be preferred.

I remember going to my parents house for a cookout years ago, and seeing Joey there. I had no idea he was dating my cousin, Amie! A couple years later they were married. Joey always made family get-togethers so much fun. He and Amie lived only a few blocks from my parent's house in Glendale, and they always made a point to come over to celebrate birthdays, holidays, or just for fun. We used to reminisce about our old Nicolet days-- it seemed Joey still hung out with many of his old friends, and would give me updates on how everyone was doing, since I no longer lived in Wisconsin.
Over 1,000 people came to his funeral, which just proves how loved he was. He was such a shining star.
I miss him so much.
