Ricky Delbert Riedlinger, age 59, of Glendive, Montana passed away 2 days before his 60th birthday, on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at his brother's home in Rapid City, South Dakota surrounded by family. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glendive with Father Francis Schreiber officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in Dawson County Cemetery in Glendive. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.


Ricky was born on June 20, 1956 in Belle Fourche, South Dakota, a son of Delbert and Irene (Reinbold) Riedlinger. He was raised and educated in Glendive, attending Jefferson Elementary School, Deer Creek School, and graduating high school from Dawson County High School with the class of 1974. Following his education Ricky helped his dad on the family farm, then worked for Oil Well Perforators for many years before working for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad as a welder/grinder.


Ricky was extraordinarily proud of his nieces and nephews. He loved them greatly and was the most caring uncle.


He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert.
Ricky is survived by his mother, Irene Riedlinger of Glendive; four siblings, Cindy Riedlinger and her husband Raafat of Cairo, Egypt, Marty Riedlinger and his wife Teri of Rapid City, South Dakota, Kristy Gress and her partner Ellis Hickel of Wahpeton, North Dakota, and Brad Riedlinger and his wife Tammy of Laurel, Montana; seven nieces and nephews, LeeAnn Sims, Stephanie Thomas, Cory Gress, Travis Gress, Kelsey Gress, Rhea Riedlinger, and Conor Riedlinger; and three great-nieces and great-nephews, Tyler Weddle, Hannah Weddle, and Greyson Thomas.
