
Frank Gabossi III, 53, was born April 30, 1953, in Oak Creek to Frank and Gloria Gabossi. He passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction on Aug. 6, 2006.
Frank was a native of Colorado and loved the outdoors. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and camping. Frank also enjoyed sports throughout his life. He worked in the mining industry most of his life. Most recently he worked at Pitkin Iron Corp. of Glenwood Springs.
Frank served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Elks and Eagles fraternal organization and active in the American Legion Post in Paonia.
Frank is survived by his parents, Frank and Gloria Gabossi; brother, Roc (Mary) Gabossi; sister, Kathy (Bernie) Whitman; his girlfriend, Lori Wendt, and her children, Daniel and Amorette; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Frank is remembered as loving, generous, and hardworking by all who knew him. His random acts of kindness defined him. Frank lived in the moment and enjoyed the simple things in life.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at the New Creation Church of Glenwood Springs with a reception following at the church.
