After teaching at Tate for 35-years, Mr. Varner (honors biology) has been named "Escambia County Teacher of the Year." Now that he's won, he's going to Disneyland (kidding)... he's retiring. :-)

I loved Mr. Varner!  He sooo deserves that honor and it's a long time coming, if I may add.  He was a great teacher.
