Vickie Nadine Carlson, 68, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020 at her home in Tucson, Arizona. Vickie was born on April 3rd, 1952 to Floyd “Bud” and Gloria Rosella Carlson.
Vickie is survived by her children; Nadine Roselle Ruiz-Carlson, Los Angeles, California and Matthew Arthur Carlson-Ihle, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Vickie leaves behind her sister Nancy Barchus in Milford, Virginia, niece Jessica Gilpin and four grand nieces and nephews, and so many loving family members and life-long friends.
Vickie graduated from Grand Forks Central High School, she obtained a Nursing Degree in Minneapolis, Minnesota and an Associates Degree in Tucson, Arizona.
Vickie was a true flower child, she had a passion for social justice and lead with an empathetic heart. She spent much of her life making treasures of discarded objects, over the years she restored and gave new life to collectibles, vintage artifacts, art and antiques.
For those who wish to join the family in expressions of love and remembrance, we will have a socially distanced outdoor celebration of Vickie’s life on her birthday, April 3, 2021. The service will be held from 11am-3pm in the Tucson Botanical Gardens’ Xeriscape Garden at 2150 N Alvernon Way, Tucson, AZ 85712.
