Dale T. Fontaine, 63, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016 in Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Dale Thomas Fontaine was born July 28, 1952 in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Ernest and Mary (Gust) Fontaine. He was raised in Grand Forks and attended St. Michael’s Elementary School, St. James High School and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1970. He was employed at the Grand Forks Air Force Base missile sites and later as a tanker driver for Transport Inc. and Ferrelgas. Dale was employed with Farstad Oil, until retiring due to illness. Dale married Nancy Lee Geatz on December 28, 1979 in Grand Forks. He was a member of The International Brotherhood of Teamsters, a former member of Holy Family Catholic Church and presently a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his mother, Mary Fontaine, Grand Forks, ND; sons, Christopher (Nichole) Fontaine, Minneapolis, MN, Michael Fontaine, Matthew (Tasha Rasmussen) Fontaine, Jamie Blilie, all of Grand Forks, ND; a daughter, Cheryleen Wilson, East Grand Forks, MN; a brother, David Fontaine, Grand Forks, ND; sisters, LaRae Fontaine, Grand Forks, ND, Sherri (James) Osgood, Charlotte, NC; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016 in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service in The Historic Norman Funeral Home-Gregory J. Norman Funeral Chapel. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Tuesday.
Burial: Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
