Debera A. Hallgren, 69, Emerado, North Dakota, died unexpectantly Tuesday, November 30th, 2021.
Debera (Debbie) Hallgren, the daughter of Ade and Evelyn (Franklin) Hadland, was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on August 6th, 1952. She attended West Elementary, Valley Junior High, and graduated from Central High School in 1970. Debbie continued her education at Grand Forks School of Hair Design, earning her cosmetology certificate. She then co-owned and operated He-She’s Salon in Grand Forks for many years.
Debbie married the love of her life, Scott Hallgren, on October 19th, 1974. They recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. Scott and Debbie built their life on a horse ranch in rural Emerado and were blessed with three daughters, Tara, Stacy, and Kelly. She was the BEST wife and mother anyone could ask for, and her favorite thing in the world was putting joy in the lives of her husband and daughters. Debbie also cherished brightening the lives of her seven grandkids, Morgan, Charli, Violetta, Jace, Maggie, Brody, and Reid. In addition, she loved cooking and hosting family gatherings, attending grandchildren’s activities, and lying on the beach in Florida. Debbie was irreplaceable in the lives of her family and friends; she will be greatly missed.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Ade and Evelyn; parents-in-law, Web and Verna (Jacobson) Hallgren; her brother Richard Hadland, her nephew Michael Hadland; brothers-in-law Paul Larsen and Gary “Hoss” Hallgren; and several beloved extended family members. Debbie is survived by her husband Scott, her three daughters and her seven grandchildren- Tara Kulack (Chris, Charli, & Jace), Dr. Stacy Hallgren (Kris, Morgan, Maggie, Brody, Reid), Kelly Popov (Violetta), her brother Dr. Dale (Sue) Hadland, sister Cindy Larsen, and her sister-in-law Sheri Hallgren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, December 5th at 1 pm with a visitation preceding at 12 pm at Amundson’s Funeral Home in Grand Forks, ND.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Ascension Lutheran Church in Emerado, ND.
