Linda M. York, of Olympia, Washington, passed away after a long battle with cancer on September 3, 2007. She was 54 years of age. She was born to Alan and Mary York on September 17, 1952 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Linda graduated from Central High School in 1970 and from the University of North Dakota in 1975, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. Linda worked for the Washington State Department of Licensing for Engineers and Land Surveyors as an Investigator. After working for the State of Washington for 25-and-a-half years, she retired in 2007. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas. Linda was a very loving and generous woman. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Linda is survived by her sister, Maggie Warren, nieces, Sarah Warren and Jenny Crocker, ex-brother-in- law, Paul Warren, and great- nephew, Logan Crocker. She was preceded in death by her life- partner, Don Shuckhart. A celebration of her life will be held at her sister's house, 3012 Boundary Street S.E., Olympia, on Sunday, September 9, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. Friends and loved ones are invited.
