I have some great memories of Jeff. We grew up in the same neighborhood so I had the honor of going all through school with Jeff... Roosevelt, South Jr., and GFC. In elementary I can remember Jeff winning all of the "King of the Hill" games out on the playground. Of course you always wanted Jeff to be on your team when you played dodge ball! He was a tough cookie. Jeff was a tough wrestler..... I can still hear our special cheer for him... Go Go Gundy Gundy Go Go Go Gundy Gundy! I remember Jeff being very proud to be from Grand Forks Central. He was a great guy with a big heart and I will miss him!

Jeff was a great guy and will be missed. I just read Christy Pladson's email and have been thinking about the "Go Gundy" chant that the cheerleaders made up for Jeff. I close my eyes and I can hear it vividly. I can also see Jeff on the side of the mat in his maroon uniform with the white stripe down the side. His hands are clenched into fists, he is bouncing slightly up and down, and he has a smile on his face. He is ready to go and he is loving it. Jeff was a great team mate. He pushed everyone, he inspired everyone, and he never quit. God Bless You Jeff.

Jeff is one of those people you will always remember, he was quite a character. I was really shocked and saddened to hear of his death.

The one memory that sticks with me I believe comes from our junior year. I think that we were decorating for prom and he was on top of a very high step ladder putting something on the ceiling in the gym. When he needed to move the ladder, instead of climbing all of the way down, he held on to the big divider that was used to separate the gym in two and just kind of used his feet to "scooch" it to a new position, smiling the entire time.

Jeff will be missed. I was in his wedding when he married Bonnie Christianson.

Jeff was like such a teddybear. He was such a good friend. We had a lot of good times together.

I went to grade school, Jr High and High School with Jeff. I also remember that in Elementary School you always wanted to stay out of Jeff’s way in King of the Hill. It always took a big group of kids to knock Jeff off of the Hill. I don’t think that the schools today would allow the kids to do the things that we did in Elementary School.

I remember in 5th or 6th grade when we had shared classrooms Mr. Whitman was out of the classroom and Jeff’s teacher was chasing him around the room trying to get him under control.

I don’t remember her name but she had red hair. I also remember wanting to be on his side in dodge ball. He could throw that ball hard. Most kids thought that he was a tuff guy, but he was very nice once you knew him. He could always make me laugh.

I never saw Jeff after High School but when I saw that he passed away I was saddened like everyone else that knew him. I will always have nice thoughts of Jeff and my thoughts go out to his family and loved ones.
