Rosie Ballingrud (Longtine)

 

Rosanne L. Longtine, 37 of Grand Forks, ND passed away Friday, August 14, 2009 in AltruHospital in Grand Forks.
 
Rosie L. Ballingrud was born November 24, 1971 the daughter of Phil and Marlyce (Franklin) Ballingrud in Thief River Falls, MN.  She was baptized at TrinityLutheranChurch in 1971. In 1972, they moved to Grand Forks, where she grew up and attended the West and WilderElementary Schools, ValleyJunior High School, and graduated from CentralHigh School in 1990. She was confirmed at CalvaryLutheranChurch in Grand Forks. She later graduated from the HairDesignersAcademy. Rosie married Ivan R. Longtine on September 15, 2001. Following their marriage, she worked for the Townhouse Motel, and helped care for developmentally disabled people at various group homes for Development Homes. She was a school bus monitor for Dietrich Bus Company, transporting the disabled until she took ill last December. She had a severe stroke on January 2, and was on the road to recovery when she had a more severe stroke on Thursday, August 13, and the Lord took her home to be united with the rest of her family. She was a former president of the Eagles Auxiliary #350, and was a member and Sunday school teacher at AugustanaLutheranChurch in Grand Forks. She resided at Valley Eldercare at the time of her death.
 
Rosie loved to talk to friends, rummage, read books, and crochet. She was a very jolly person and always made you feel better if you were having a bad day, and could remember phone numbers from way back. 
 
She is survived by, her husband, Ivan; daughter, Ruby; her mother Marlyce Ballingrud, (Darrel Schulz), all of  Grand Forks, ND; a sister, Tina (Kevin) DeLash, Bailey, CO; grandmother, Violet Erickson, Thief River Falls, MN, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
 
She was preceded in death by her father, Phil Ballingrud; infant child, Ivy Rose Longtine, another miscarriage; maternal grandfather, Algot Erickson; paternal grandparents, Ernest and Gladys Ballingrud; and maternal grandparents, David and Emma Franklin.
