Robert "Bob" Paul Buckley, Jr.
Robert P. "Bob" Buckley, Jr., 61, of Grand Forks, ND died peacefully Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Robert Paul Buckley was born on May 21, 1954 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Robert and Lois (Budge) Buckley. He was raised in Grand Forks, graduating from Grand Forks Central High School in 1972. Bob married his high-school sweetheart, Susan M. “Susie” Haen on March 8, 1974 in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks. He was employed as a brakeman/switchman with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for 39 years. Bob was an outdoorsman, who loved camping, hunting, fishing – hobbies he shared with his son and grandson.
Bob is survived by his wife of 42 years, Susie; a son, Mathew (Tera) Buckley; his mother, Lois Buckley; grandchildren, Keegan and Tianna, all of Grand Forks, ND; siblings, Barb McWalter, East Grand Forks, MN, Kathy (Mark) Holm, Grand Forks, ND, Scott (Jody) Buckley, Sioux Falls, SD, John (Cathy) Buckley, Floyds Knobs, IN; a sister-in-law, Jennie ( Mrs. Michael) Buckley, Bismarck ND and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert; a brother, Michael and infant sister, Mary.
Memorial Liturgy: 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2016 in the Historic Norman Funeral Home-Gregory J. Norman Funeral Chapel.
Family Greeting: One hour prior to the liturgy in the funeral home on Monday.
