Jane Paulson, 52, died Monday, July 4, 2005 at her home in Thief River Falls, MN. Jane Marie Durkin was born May 27, 1953 at St. Michael's Hospital, Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of John and Eleanor (Kowalczik) Durkin. She was baptized in June of 1953 and confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Grand Forks. Jane attended St. Mary's Grade School, South Junior High School and Grand Forks Central, graduating in 1972. Jane enjoyed being a full time mother. She lived in Grand Forks until the mid 1980's, when she moved to Thief River Falls, both of her children were born there in the late 1980's. Jane was devoted to her children and family. She was strong willed, as her behavior and conversations showed. She had been through so much in her life, beginning at only seven weeks old with her first surgery. Throughout her life, the Lord tested her many times, as she had 25-30 surgeries. She was a fighter, and also a firm believer in Christ. She loved to have a good time and brightened the room wherever she went. Survived by daughters, Laura Paulson and Christine Paulson, both of Thief River Falls, MN; parents, John and Eleanor Durkin, Grand Forks, ND; brother, John (Linda) Durkin, Grand Forks, ND; sisters, Carol (Jon) Trott, Chicago, IL, Marilyn Schuman, Grand Forks, ND, Shirley (Wayne) Hooey, Lakota, ND and Karen (Rick) Woodard, Duluth, MN; several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by grandparents; and brother, Ronald, who died at birth. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m., Thursday, July 7, 2005 at St. Bernard's Church, Thief River Falls, MN. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery, Thief River Falls. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m, Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls with a 7 p.m prayer service Wednesday with Sister Kathleen McGeary and at the church for one hour prior to services, Thursday.
