Michael Gendreau

Michael Dean Hejlik, 50, of Grand Forks, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Michael Hejlik was born on August 13, 1954, to Eman & Leona (Diemert) Hejlik in Langdon, ND. He grew up in Lawton and Grand Forks. He graduated high school from Grand Forks Central. He attended Wahpeton School of Science where he received a degree as an Auto Body Technician. He also attended the University of North Dakota. He owned and operated Gateway Body Works for several years before working for the Collision Center in Grand Forks. Michael enjoyed riding horses, hunting, fishing, and auto painting. Michael is survived by his Daughter Amanda Hejlik of Fordville; Mother Leona of Grand Forks; Sisters, Patty (Bob) Peterson of East Grand Forks, MN; Lori (Tony) Hovdestad of Felton, MN; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Eman & sister Kathy. Funeral Services: Monday, June 13, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at the United Lutheran Church, 324 Chestnut St. in Grand Forks. Visitation: Sunday, June 12, 2005, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks, ND. Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
