Dale Jarombek

April 23, 1954 - March 16, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Dale Michael Jarombek, 63, of Grand Forks, ND announces that he has passed away peacefully on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Northwood Deaconess Health Center after a long battle with cancer.

Dale was born on April 23, 1954 in Grand Forks, the son of Theodore and Theresa Jarombek.  He grew up in Grand Forks and attended high school at Grand Forks Central.  On July 12, 1974, he married Kathleen Lewis of East Grand Forks, MN.  The couple made their home in Grand Forks. Dale and Kathleen had three children, Jason, Rachel, and Casey.

Dale worked for BNSF Railroad from 1974 until he retired in 2004.  He worked for the track department doing various jobs.

While his children were growing up, Dale loved being involved in their activities including coaching their youth basketball, teaching religious education, and chaperoning ski trips and dances.  He was an animal lover especially caring for his family dogs who became his constant companions.  His greatest joy was taking care of and spending time with his grandsons, Sam and Andrew.  He could often be found in the yard with them playing kickball, digging in the sand, giving them ice cream, or gardening. He beamed with pride about his grandsons. A kid at heart, Dale was always being silly and kidding around with the children in his life.

Dale is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Kathleen, sons Jason Jarombek and Casey Jarombek, daughter Rachel (Travis) Benson, grandsons Samuel and Andrew Benson, all of Grand Forks; father Theodore Jarombek, Grand Forks; mother, Theresa Jarombek, Larimore, ND; brothers Robert (Cathy) Jarombek, Grand Forks, and Roland Jarombek, Kansas City, MO; and many nieces and nephews.  Dale was preceded in death by brother Allen Jarombek.

Memorial service will be held Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 11:30 am, at Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
