Thomas Arthur LaBonte, 57, Victoria, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Detar Navarro Hospital due to congestive heart failure Tom was born on April 27, 1954 to James E. LaBonte and Mona Baril LaBonte. He attended St. Michael's Elementary School, Valley Jr. H.S. and graduated from Central High School in 1972. He attended NDSSS in Wahpeton, ND where he received a degree in Business. He moved to the Twin Cities where he sold insurance and annuities. He married Bonnie Barsness in 1978. Tom moved to Victoria, Texas where he was owner of AquaKnights Waterbeds which later became LaBonte's Waterbeds. He married Lillian Aleman in 1981. He moved back to Grand Forks where he worked for Hansen Ford. He later moved to Fargo and Duluth where he managed JD Byriders. Tom moved back to Texas in 2000 where he worked for a car dealership. Tom was diaganosed with inoperable lung cancer in 2002 and later suffered 3 heart attacks. In his spare time, Tom enjoyed playing his guitar, playing golf, and spending time with his grandchildren. Tom is survived by his mother, Mona LaBonte, brother, Scott LaBonte of Grand Forks, sister, Lynn Litzinger (David) of Duluth, MN, daughters Rachelle LaBonte, Austin, Tx, Nicole LaBonte, Victoria, Tx, and Amanda Westmeyer, Minot, ND, son, James LaBonte, Austin, Tx, grandchildren, Tommy and Carmen Hernandez, Hunter Lopez, and Lily LaBonte, and ex-wife Lillian Stevens. He is preceded in death by his father, James LaBonte, sister-in-law, Gloria LaBonte, and great nephew, Isaac March.
