In Memory

Peggy Meisel (Rr) (Moss)

Peggy Meisel (Rr) (Moss)

Peggy Marie Moss (Meisel) of Watertown, TN passed away on August 23, 2023. She was 67 years old.

Peg was born on March 7, 1956 in Grafton, North Dakota. She grew up in Grand Forks. Some of her fondest childhood memories include summertime visits to her grandparents ranch near Selfridge, North Dakota where she fell in love with riding horses and she also learned to drive a car.

She was the oldest of seven children, five sisters and one brother. She attended Red River High School and received her degree from the University of North Dakota. Peg worked as a talented cytotechnologist in Denver and Nashville before reluctantly having to stop working due to the progression of her Multiple Sclerosis. On April 17, 2013 she married her first love, Jerry Moss, who she had known since high school.

Peg loved art and nature. She was a talented artist who worked meticulously with many mediums including stained glass, paint, and quilting. She loved all animals, especially birds, and she always made sure her several hummingbird feeders were full.

She also loved to cook and bake using ingredients from her garden, always making sure to share what she made with her friends and neighbors. She made amazing jams in the summer. She loved to garden, and although her Multiple Sclerosis made it difficult for her, she always had to have a vegetable patch and flowers everywhere. She was always sure to have a plate of barbecued ribs ready for her son in law Caleb who swears they were the best ribs he’s ever had.

Peg was funny, brave, kind, and generous. She thought of other people before herself. She loved to read and could never part with a book she enjoyed. She loved her grandchildren and they were blessed to have her in their lives. She was a treasured mother, sister, wife, and friend. Her family will miss her immensely and the loss of her will be felt forever, but we have faith that she has been reunited with her daughter Laura Camille and they are together again in the arms of the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Laura Camille, and her younger brother Jimmy. She is survived by her husband Jerry Moss, her daughter Corinne (Caleb) Spicer, her three adored grandchildren Levi, Isla and Milo, her sweet step grandchildren Weslynn, Hannah, Isaac, Braden, and Erin, her son David Stinson, her parents Vi (Walt) Stroh and Jim (Carolyn) Meisel, her sisters Judy Ell, Kate Sampson, Mari Anderson, Jayne Pudil, and Karen Bromley, and many special nieces and nephews.

We will celebrate Peg’s life on Wednesday, August 30th at 10 am at The Cathedral of the Incarnation, 2015 West End Avenue, Nashville, Tennessee.

There will be an evening visitation on Tuesday, August 29th from 7-9 pm at the Cathedral, and also on Wednesday, August 30th at 9 am before the service.

Interment at Calvary Cemetery will follow the service, where Peg will be laid to rest beside her daughter Laura Camille.
