Tom Anderson (CHS)

Thomas L. Anderson, 64, of Boulder City, NV, died December 27, 2020, of pneumonia, cancer and heart problems.

Tom was born January 27, 1956, to Donald L. and Virginia T. Anderson in Grand Forks, ND, where he was raised. He was confirmed in Calvary Lutheran Church and graduated from Central High School in 1974. He graduated from the University of North Dakota Aerospace Sciences in 1979. He married Julie M. Waxvik; they later divorced.

He was a Captain for Sun Country Airlines. In addition to flying regular routes, he also flew many Sun Country charter flights all over the world for the Department of Defense, the U.S. military, and the Office of the President. He played hockey for Central High School and was an avid hunter of both waterfowl and large game. He fished all over the United States, especially in Alaska.

After retiring from flying, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle everywhere especially with the Patriot Guard Riders for U.S. military and first responders. He felt they deserved to have funeral honors.

He was an avid hockey fan of his children and UND.

He is survived by his parents of Sartell, MN; Michelle Ashton of Boulder City, NV; two sons Justin of West Fargo, ND; and Ryan of Grand Forks; one daughter Brianna (Tiffany) of Minneapolis, MN; two grandchildren Bauer and Lucy of West Fargo; two brothers Todd (Laurie) of Fargo, ND and Keith (Julie) of Grand Forks; one sister Kris Moran (Ron) of Sartell, MN; 5 nieces and 1 nephew.
