Rod Spies  

Rodney L. Spies, 64, Gulf Shores, AL, and formerly of Grand Forks, ND, died Friday, January 4, 2019 surrounded by his family.
Rod was born March 8, 1954 to Cyril and Ethel (Schuster) Spies in Devils Lake, North Dakota. He graduated from Red River High School in 1972 and the University of North Dakota in 1976. Rod married Debbie (Curtiss) in 1975. He lived in Grand Forks for 62 years and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church the entire time. He worked for Hugo's Marketplace for 47 years. He retired in 2017 to Gulf Shores, Alabama and Franklin Lake, Minnesota. Rod enjoyed spending his time with family and friends. His true joy was spending time with his four grandkids.
