Colleen K. Grotzky, 49 of Grand Island died Friday, July 15, 2011 at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of All Faiths Funeral Home. Reverend George Wheat will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a time of sharing remembrances with the family from 5-7 p.m. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home.

Mrs. Grotzky was born July 15, 1962, in Grand Island to Harry and Shirley ( Anderson) Martens. Survivors of the immediate family include her husband of 30 years, Randy; a daughter and son-in-law, Tia and Eric Pazarena of Grand Island; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Danni of Lincoln; her parents, Harry and Shirley Martens of Phillips; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Dale Bruss of Dwight, Kansas and 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Lori Martens of Cedar Lake, Indiana, Mike and Kim Martens of Norman, Oklahoma and Todd Martens of Grand Island. Additional survivors include grandchildren, Nikolas and Natalia Pazarena, many nieces, nephews, aunts, & uncles; and very special friends, Gene & Peg Pesek of Grand Island. She was welcomed into heaven by her sister & brother-in-law, Connie & Gary Farley of Crown Point, Indiana, her mother-in-law, Beverly Grotzky of Grand Island, and her Grandparents.

Colleen was born in Grand Island and then moved to Indiana through her 9 th grade year. The family then returned to Grand Island, where she graduated from Grand Island Senior High, class of 1980. She was united in marriage to Randy on September 14, 1980. Before her illness she was employed by the Follett Bookstore at the Grand Island Central Community College Campus as the Assistant Manager. Some of her enjoyments were spending time with family and friends, especially with her grandchildren.

Colleen was a very kind and sweet person to all who knew her.
