Debbie, who changed how she spelled her first name several times, was a good friend! She suffered much with her health, but never complained. I learned a great deal from her. We used to get dropped off on Main street in Grand Junction and spend hours going in and out of the stores. We especially liked furniture stores. We would talk about what furniture we liked best and wanted to own someday. Debee used to try and get me to give her her insulin shots. I just couldn't do it, even though I knew it would be helpful to her. She'd just go ahead and give the shot to herself and we'd be back to having fun.
