Free Lodging and Transportation Offer

Classmates,

We would be delighted to offer free housing to at least two persons coming to our reunion. We are sensitive to classmates called to lower-paying human service careers and who must live prudently. We live about a mile from the 'new' GRCHS. We have a lower level living area that can be quite separate from upstairs. Accommodations include a large bedroom with two twin beds (we could offer an inflated double bed in an adjoining 'living room' also, should three or four compatible classmates desire to be together), and a full private bath. We would provide a keypad access so guests could come and go as they please. We still have two cars, and we would be delighted to lend one. We are willing to pick up and return classmates from the airport. Since we have returned to GR(twenty years ago), we desire to be hospitable to classmates who come from elsewhere.

We are looking forward to a great reunion!

RE: Book Recommendations

Thanks, Paul. I'll check it out. Jodi Picoult is an author I am familiar with and enjoy.

RE: Book Recommendations

Hi Ruth and Terry,

Barb and I are not into RVs but we do like to read. I just finished Jodi Picoult, House Rules, about a teenager with Asperger's syndrome. Fascinating how we could see in the main character kids we know with Asperger's.

Book Recommendations

I just finished reading "Room: A Novel," by Emma Donoghue, the hardest book I have ever read and also one of the best pieces of fiction. I also loved "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett and "Nomad," nonfiction by Ayaan Hirsi Ali. So I recommend these to all you readers out there. And because I love to read, I would appreciate book recommendations from my classmates on this forum. Thanks. Ruth Achtyes Hager

Coming Home

The first time Terry and I entered Escapees Park Sierra RV park near Coarsegold CA, we both experienced the feeling of "coming home." This happened even before we had talked with anyone in the park. It was a "love at first sight" perfect match between the physical setting and us. I have experienced this feeling at other times, too, during our travels.

Now I am curious about this kind of experience in the lives of others and how their lives were affected. If you have a story to tell on this topic, I hope you will join this forum. I, for one, would love to hear from you.
