Nina Egbert (Mandry)

Nina Madry 1945-2012 On December 9, 1945 Arthur and Bonnie Egbert became proud parents of Nina Janelle Egbert. She was later joined by brothers Bruce, Tim, and Lowell and little Bonnie. The Egbert family lived in small logging towns like Slate Creek and Mount Idaho until settling in Grangeville, where Nina graduated from high school. After graduation Nina moved to Boise to attend business school. She was soon hired by the Bureau of Land Management where she met the love of her life, Dick Madry. They were married on July 13, 1968. They were married for forty-four years and raised two children, Angelina and Richie, in Boise. Nina enjoyed traveling, camping, boating, and fishing in the summer and skiing in the winter with her family. She attended every school program, band concert, sporting event, etc. that her children or their friends were involved in and she loved Boise State football. She was also a devoted grandmother to her seven grandchildren. She was present for every birth and helped take care of each grandbaby in their first days at home. Nina loved music, crafting, and sewing. She was a beautiful singer and played multiple instruments. She wrote beautiful poetry and made amazing clothing, purses, and quilts. She saw beauty everywhere in the world around her and it inspired her. In February of this year Nina was diagnosed with ALS. She spent her last months in the company of friends and family. Her body was failing her and she was no longer able to do the things she loved so much. On August 30, 2012, she went to sleep and the angels in Heaven welcomed her home. She arrived free of her broken down body and able to once again do all the things she loved to do in her life here with us. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Egbert, and her brother Lowell Egbert. She is survived by her husband, Dick Madry of Boise, her children, Angelina (Kyle) Wilson of Meridian, Rich Madry of Tampa, Florida, and grandchildren, Jaren, Aaliyah, and Andre Wilson, Andrew Wyman, Dominic, Wesley, and Christopher Madry, her father, Arthur Egbert of Boise, brothers Bruce Egbert of Walla Walla, Tim (Anne) Egbert of Boise, and sister, Bonnie McCurdy of Boise, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/idahostatesman/obituary.aspx?pid=159654094#fbLoggedOut

Nina was my best friend...throughout our lives.  I thought of her often during all the times we were unable to see each other.  She was an inspiration to me in many things but her friendship will live with me forever.  Leta
