Ronald (Fredrickson)

GRANGEVILLE: Ronald E. Fredrickson , 73 of Grangeville passed away Monday, April 9, 2012 in Grangeville.

 

Ron was born July 26, 1938 at Moscow, Idaho a son of August and Sarah Bugh Fredrickson.  He attended schools in Moscow graduating from Moscow High School in 1956.  He married Maureen Walker on April 14, 1959 at Moscow.  He graduated from the University of Idaho in 1960 and later that year they moved to Grangeville where Ron taught school and was the varsity football, basketball and baseball coach.  He earned his Masters Degree from the University of Idaho in 1963.  He became a guidance counselor at Grangeville High School and retired in 1994.  Maureen passed away in 1994.

 

He loved fishing and tying flies.  He was also an avid Idaho Vandal fan and was a longtime season ticket holder for Vandal football games.

 

He was long standing member of the Kelly Creek Fly casters.

 

He is survived by his children; Dennis and Dee Fredrickson of Riggins, Mike and Lynne Fredrickson of Grangeville, Scott and Donna Fredrickson of Eagle River, Alaska and Kara and David Martin of Freeland, Washington.  He is also survived by ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren and his dog, Sundance, III.   In addition to his wife, his parents, a grandson, one brother and three sisters died earlier.

 

Private family services will be held.  Services are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville.
