Eleanora Graham Webb, a Grangeville native, passed away Saturday, Oct.
16, 2004, at the age of 86.
 

She was born March 30, 1918, to Mr. and Mrs. James E. Graham. (Her
mother, Elsie Zehner, was also a Grangeville native.) Eleanora
attended school in Grangeville, where she graduated from high school
in 1935. She furthered her education by attending the University of
Idaho where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority, and
graduated in 1939 with a BS business education degree. Her first
teaching position was in Winchester during the 1939-1940 school year.
 

Dec. 22, 1939, she married Orrin F. Webb and they made their home in
Grangeville where Orrin was employed at her father's insurance and
real estate office. When Orrin was called to active duty in December
of 1942, she remained in Grangeville, where she continued to teach
school, as well as office secretarial work for the school. She was
employed for a short time at the REA.
 

When Orrin returned from active duty in 1945, they purchased her dad's
insurance and real estate business from Len Jordan, who had purchased
it from her father in 1943. She and Orrin owned the business until
1961, when they sold it to George Gerrard.
 

Eleanora was very active in community affairs, having served as
president of the Grangeville Hospital Auxiliary, PEO, Prairie Nile
Club, and was a member of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, and
Cub Scout den mother, as well as various other community activities.
 

Eleanora loved flower gardening and took pride in making her lawn and
flowers always look nice. She could often be seen dragging the water
hose around - she always believed everything needed a lot of water!
 

She had a very unique characteristic in that she could remember so
many of her friends and their children's birthdays, wedding
anniversaries, and, as friends can attest, she always had some unique
remembrance for them on those special occasions.
 

Eleanora was also active in church activities, having taught Sunday
school classes when she was in high school, and also in her later
years as a member of the Grangeville Episcopal Church.
 

She is survived by her husband, Orrin, at their home in Grangeville.
 

A son, James, preceded her in death.
 

At her request, there will be a private service where she will be laid
to rest next to her son.

In lieu of flowers or memorials, Orrin and Eleanora ask only that you
remember them in your thoughts and prayers.
