Pearl (Vopat)

GRANGEVILLE: Pearl M. Vopat, 93 of Grangeville passed away August 13, 2005 at the Grangeville Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born July 13, 1912 at Spearfish, South Dakota a daughter of J.H. and Rachel Saunders Gilmore.

She married Earl Vopat in 1931. They lived in Spearfish until 1944 when they moved to Grangeville. She worked for School Dist. 241 for many years as a secretary at the high school and also at the district office.

She is survived by her husband, Earl at the family home; two sons, Tom and his wife Gayle of Hayden, Idaho, and Jim and Kathleen of Grangeville, a son in law, Charles Laurenti of Lead, South Dakota, 8 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth (Betty) Vopat Laurenti, a grandson, her parents, a sister and three brothers.

At her request there will be no services. Internment will be at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville.

Family suggests memorial contributions to the Grangeville School Activities Fund, 714 Jefferson St, Grangeville, ID 83530 or to a charity of donor’s choice.
