Kathy Hilton (Baker)

Kathy J. Barker, 54, of Gray, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 17, 2012.


A native of Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde H. and Vadith O. Smith Hilton.


Kathy was an active member at Boones Creek Bible Church. She retired from the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center after 28 years of service. Kathy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother as well as a devoted caregiver to family and friends all of her life. 


She leaves behind her loving husband of 36½ years, Gary E. Barker; two sons and daughters-in-law, Aaron E. and Deidra Barker, Aliquippa, PA, David J. and Jenilyn Barker, Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren, Savanna Grace Barker, Jackson Isaiah Barker, both of Aliquippa, PA, and Adelei Salazar Barker, Brooklyn, NY; brother, Richard G. Hilton; sister, Lucy E. Emery, both of Gray; and a brother-in-law, Larry Barker and his wife, Pat, Kingsport, TN. 


A Celebration of Life service for Kathy J. Barker will be conducted at 8:00 PM Friday, April 20, 2012, in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services with Pastor Dale Cunningham and Reverend Harold Jones officiating.


The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 PM till the service hour.


A Committal and Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Washington County Memory Gardens. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:15 AM to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tony Glass, Craig Harmon, Charles Crigger, Tracy Coates, Raymond Emery, Frank Emery, Erik Hilton and Brantley Kinch.


The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Rebekah Cote, Dr. DaSilva, the office staff and Chemotherapy Nursing staff at Kingsport Hematology for the unconditional care and support given to Kathy and her family during their time of need.
