Arlene Dunsing was my friend in 2nd grade. We would walk together to the Alan Theater in New Hyde Park Saturday afternoon to watch Tarzan movies. We remained close friends right through 1961. We practiced our lindy together in 6th grade. In High school we occassionally talked over a drink, at the Club Tavern in Great Neck. We somehow thought we would be good friends forever. Arlene's passing is a reminder to all that we must make the most of life. Every moment of every day is a gift not to be taken for granted. That's the way Arlene lived and that's how she will be remembered.
Arlene remained my friend from 2nd grade until her death. She had a wonderful life with her husband, Aso Tavitian, taveling the world, living in Greenwich, CT, and Saddle River, NJ, truly enjoying each other. They were a great pair. I miss her every day.
