Alan Howard Meyer, MD, passed away on May 5th, 2012. Born in Orlando, Florida. Graduate of Duke University, Phi Beta Kappa and Duke Medical School. He pursued additional medical training at the University of Utah, Kaiser San Francisco, and the Long Beach Veteran's Hospital. He worked for Kaiser Sacramento for 30 years retiring in 2003. An avid reader and traveler, and a life long learner, especially of science. He is survived by his wife Carolyn, mother Catherine, the families of his daughter Mary Fox, MD and son Edward and 3 grandchildren, as well as his two brothers who are also doctors, Douglas and Kenneth and their wives.
