On May 29th Liz died peacefully at her home in Manhattan, surrounded by family and friends. An influential author, distinguished teacher, brillent thinker and long time activist for social and eocnomic justice, Liz inspired generations of students and countless others whose lives she touched profoundly. She leaves behind Stuart Ewen, sons Paul and Sam, 2 grandchildren, and daughter - in - law Gretel Smith, sisters and brothers-in-law.
