Jeffrey Scott Peterson.... he passed Jan 5 2002. He was a football player and later in life suffered for a disease that caused him to loose hearing and speech.
Prior to Jeff's passing, I had the pleasure to renew my friendship with him. Although he was dealing with this horrible disease, he had alot of determination not to let it keep him down. He always had a HUGE smile on his face!. Jeff had difficulty walking but he rode his bike everywhere. I worked at a local elementary school and he always rode by to wave hello when I had the children on the playground. Jeff also could not speak but we "talked " on the phone alot through an interpretor. Jeff would type what he wanted to say on a keyboard and he/she would translate what he had typed. His favorite thing to talk about was his beautiful daughter. He had a wonderful spirit !
I had the pleasure of knowing Scott (Jeff) most of my life. We became friends at Greenacres Elementary School and as the years passed, still stayed friends through High School. I am afraid we lost touch later in life. I was reacquainted with him during the 20 year reunion. I was especially proud that he was able to attend the reunion in spite of his ongoing medical problems. Through it all he continued to enjoy life even in the most painful of circumstances. Rest in Peace my friend.
