William Henry "Bill" Wrenn
Greensboro - Bill died suddenly on September 24, 2010. Bill was born in Guilford County on January 11, 1932 to Jince and Kerney Wrenn. Bill graduated from Greensboro (Grimsley) Senior High School in 1950. After high school Bill married Doris "Dee" Frank who predeceased him in 2000.
Bill served in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1956. After his discharge, he attended and graduated from Guilford College with honors. Bill was employed by Western Electric and Lucent Technologies, from which he retired in 1990. After his retirement, Bill remained active by volunteering with Moses Cone Hospital. Bill also organized a group of his high school classmates into the "50s" Lunch Bunch. He also enjoyed attending and fellowshipping with his many friends in the Glenwood Breakfast Club and the Quaker Men's group. Bill had many hobbies and interests, with his favorites being fishing and shagging. Until his death Bill was an active member of the First Friends Meeting in Greensboro.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Susan Wrenn; and three grandchildren, Chris, Michael and Meghan. Bill is also survived by his special friend and companion of many years, Martha Rierson
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29, at the First Friends Meeting located at 2100 W. Friendly Ave. in Greensboro. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the First Friends Meeting.
