GREENSBORO — Frank Hadley Hough, 78, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, August 9, 2010.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2010 in the chapel of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro, of which he was a member, with Reverend Steve Sumerel officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
Mr. Hough was born March 21, 1932 in Siler City, NC to the late Joel Hough and Alma Snipes Hough. After graduating from Greensboro Senior High School in 1950, he began a 41 year career with Sears and Roebuck Company. Frank also served in the National Guard from 1950 until 1956. He was active in his church, where he served as a Junior Deacon, assisted with Sunday School, and served faithfully on many mission trips, helping to build churches throughout NC, SC, GA, WV, and MD. Frank also enjoyed working with the men of the church helping to build homes for Habitat for Humanity. He always enjoyed working with his hands by making things, carving and whittling, building, gardening, and drawing. He was very gifted with the ability to build and do whatever he set his mind to do. Frank also enjoyed riding his motorcycle for over 30 years.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Among those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Sylvia Pope Hough, and their four children, Steve Hough, Glenn Hough, Lee Hough and wife Tena, and Donna Hough Brooks and husband Joe. Also remembering their "Pappy" are grandchildren James, Erica and Cody Hough and David, Daniel and Anna Lea Brooks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Hough Loy, and two brothers, Joel Clarence Hough, Jr. and Elton Baxter Hough.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Forbis & Dick Funeral Service, 1118 North Elm Street.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Hospice and to Frank's caregivers for the loving care shown during his time of declining health.
