GREENSBORO MICHAEL Wayne Pressley was born on September 6, 1960 in Greensboro, NC to the late Richard James Pressley and Ruth Mae Hughes Pressley. His earthly life ended on July 19, 2014 at Moses Cone Hospital. Mike was educated in the Greensboro City School System. He graduated from Ben L. Smith School and received an Auto Mechanic Certificate from Guilford Technical Community College. Mike worked as a school bus driver for the Greensboro School System for many years. He also worked at Guilford Mills, Motor Supply Auto Parts, Firewood Forest and Pressley's Automotive. Mike was known for his willingness to help others, by being the neighborhood mechanic, even as his sight began to fail him. He was known as "Uncle Mike" by most children he met. At any cookout or Terra Cotta Day event, Mike loved putting on his apron and getting behind the grill. He was the life of the party with his tall tales and dance steps and was always ready to be co-pilot for a road trip. Mike loved his Carolina Tar Heels and Dallas Cowboys as much as he loved his family and friends. Game Day will never be the same. Mike was preceded in death by his brother Ricky Pressley. He leaves to honor and cherish his memory his brothers: James A. Pressley (Patsy), Dano B. Pressley Sr. (Emma); sister Dobeta Pressley; aunts Wilhelmina Waddell and Mattie McClary (Marion Sr); adopted daughters Patricia Pressley and Ciera Pressley; adopted son Shawn "Flip" Pressley; nephews, Ondrea Pressley (Shenita), Dano Pressley Jr (Cheryl), Phillip Pressley, Jamie Pressley (Shari); nieces, Domeka Dick and Christel Rey (Junior); his other siblings, all of his cousins who were raised as his brothers and sisters, and a host of family and friends. Homegoing celebration is Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Goldie Hargett Memorial Chapel, 905 East Market Street, Greensboro, NC. Visitation begins at 12:30 P.M. with a service at 1:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Collins Grove UMC Cemetery.
