Tom played bass.... and was quite good as I recall. We jammed many a time....... and I think I played a small gig or two with him. I wish I could recall if he died in '77 or '78 Did he die in a car accident? Anybody out there remember for sure?
He was killed in a car accident on Starmount Drive @ Battle. I believe it was 1977, but wouldn't swear to it. There were a bunch of us hanging out at Hamilton Lake and saw him just before the accident. Brian Parrott from our class was in the car as well, but survived with relatively minor injuries. Tragic end to a young life.
Perkins was one of the coolest cats.....we had known each other since the 1st grade.....in Mrs. Butler's 9th grade history class, she called me, John Frierson and Tom Perkins, "The Mosquitos"...why ...I'll never know...He had loaned me Black Sabbath's Paranoid album a few weeks before his death and I never got to give it back....He is missed.....we called him.."Perkulator"
