
STEVEN LAMONTE MCAULEY PEACEFULLY transitioned on February 21, 2015. Funeral services will be held at Woodard Funeral Chapel on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Family visitation starts at 2:30 p.m., service at 3 p.m. and burial at Lakeview Cemetery.Steven was born on December 10, 1965 to Romona Roberts and John "JW" McAuley, Sr. He was a native of Greensboro, NC, but made his final residence in Mount Airy, NC. He was a proud graduate of Grimsley High School (class of 1984). He worked as a journeyman electrician in many states along the east coast and was mostly employed at NC A&T State University.On March 24, 1990, he was joined in holy matrimony to the love of his life, the former Angela Renee Speaks. They were blessed to be the parents of three beautiful children.Steve was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He will be remembered for his kind spirit, infectious smile that lit up every room he entered, and for being a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan. He was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Lamonte McAuley, and his maternal grandparents, Robert and Maggie McFarlin.Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Angela McAuley of the home; his daughters, Rachel McAuley of Wilmington, NC and Olivia McAuley of Chapel Hill, NC; his mother and stepfather, Bennie and Romona Maxwell of Greensboro, NC, three brothers, John "Dooney" McAuley, Jr (Rahben) of York, PA, Shawn Maxwell (Chastity) and John Womack (Donna) both of Greensboro, NC; one sister, Yolana "Yogie" Simpson (Shawn) of Greensboro, NC; his in-laws, John and Linda Speaks, David Speaks (Sharon) and Melissa Herbin all of Greensboro, NC; as well as a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
