THOMAS LEE MYERS GREENSBORO Thomas Lee "Tommy" Myers, 48, died Friday, December 27, 2013. A 2 p.m. funeral service will be held Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street Chapel. Interment will follow immediately afterwards at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Tommy was born in Greensboro on November 8, 1965 to Una and Sherrill Myers. He graduated from Grimsley High School and was a dedicated employee with Piedmont Fasteners for 29 ½ years. A true sports fan, he enjoyed Atlanta Braves Baseball, Carolina Hurricanes Ice Hockey and the North Carolina State Wolfpack. Tommy also enjoyed cooking and grilling out for his family. He always looked forward to Christmas Eve when his family would come to his home to share time together. He was preceded in death by his father, Sherrill Myers. In addition, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eunice and Lee Fentriss, and Lizzie and Joseph Myers. Surviving is his mother, Una Lee Fentriss Myers. Also surviving is his brother, Eddie Myers and wife, Stephanie. In addition, he is survived by nephews Ian and Dylan Myers, as well as an aunt and uncle, Jean and D. A. Scott and extended relatives. Tommy is also survived by his faithful and loving companion, his dog, Brownie, who was at his side until the end. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
