Andrea died in 2001, a number of years after surviving a stroke related to some undiagnosed hereditary problem.
Laura Howard Dash said, "I know a few things that were important to her (Andrea).
- Music. She had a fantastic, almost operatic voice. I think she got that from her mom. She used to sing in the choir at Guilford Park Presbyterian Church, where we both grew up.
- The above church. She loved everything about that place.
- She loved, and I mean loved, animals. Before the stroke she worked for a veterinarian in Greensboro. She had talked about being a vet herself at times.
- She never married, but her family was a big deal to her. She lived with her dad after her parents split, while her little sister lived with her mom."
