Wow,30 years...Let's see, after graduation I went to Western Carolina Unniversity and received a degree in Criminal Justice. Moved back to G'boro and decided that 1) I really missed the mountains and 2) Criminal Justice was not what I wanted to do. (I am afraid of guns and at those that point them, exspecially at me.) So I headed back to Asheville, received my degree in Respiratory Therapy (helping the sick is more my speed) and have now been at Mission Hospitals for 15 years.
Roger and I married, bought a farm 30 miles north of Asheville where we had sheep, goats, a llama named Fernando , a barn full of cats and two dogs. I learned to garden, can my own food, shear sheep, knit and make my own soap.Ten or so years later (in the middle of the night) I decided that Green Acres was not the place to be and farm living was not right for me.So ...we loaded up the truck and moved back to Ashevilly.
I have only one boy left now, he is 12 and loves long walks at Carrier park, hanging his head out the car window and feeling the breeze in his ears. Oh and terrorizing the mailman.
So, we are back in the city, walking distance to downtown and only one mile to the hospital. Life is so much easier. We spend warm weekends kayaking the surrounding rivers followed by big fat steaks on the grill.Life is good and I am truly blessed. Hope to see you guys in October.
