55TH CLASS REUNION at the O.Henry Hotel, Greensboro, NC,  June 9-11, 2017

Theme:  "You Can Go Home Again"

Friday, June 9 - Arrival at The O.Henry.  Room Check in beginning at 3 PM. Look for other Classmates gathering in the Social Lobby, Hotel Bar, or outside around the pool, weather permitting.  Reunion Check In beginning at 5 PM at the Reunion Registration Table, including your official name tag with Whirligig Picture.  The calendar calls for a Full Moon.

Class of 1962 Reception in the Pavilion and Cloister Garden areas, located just off the Social Lobby.  Enjoy light Hors D'Oeuvres and cash bar from 6 until 9:00 PM.  Unwind, catch up with old friends, make new friends and recall good times. The O.Henry's Social Lobby is a nice space to linger as well.  Dress is casual. Dinner on-your-own later if desired in the Green Valley Grill or location of your choice.  Advance reservations strongly recommended.  The O.Henry also offers free transportation from the hotel to Lucky 32 Southern Kitchen and The Print Works Bistro. The Green Valley Grill will cater all of the food for our event.

Saturday, June 10 - Breakfast on your own or with classmates as arranged the previous evening. Visit your old stomping ground around the schools you attended.  A formal tour of GHS has not been arranged, but we do have permission for a self-guided visit to the campus on Saturday morning, and to enter buildings if they are open. Get reacquainted with the Friendly Shopping Center area or Tour Greensboro and visit your old home place if you have not been back in a while.  Informal gathering for lunch (Stamey's?)...,  or just hang out by the pool in the afternoon.

Saturday Evening In The Caldwell Ball Room - Join your Classmates for a special 55th Reunion gathering from 7:00 to 11 PM.  We will re-group at 7:30 p.m. sharp for a Class Photo opportunity.

No formal program is planned.  Just time with classmates. Two drink tickets are included with your registration.  Heavy Hors D'Oeuvres and cash bar until 11.  Dress comfortably for the occasion. There will be tables available to display memorabilia if you wish.

Music by Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs "Stay"..., Yeah, right..., only in minds of those who remember the night circa 1960 at the old down-town O.Henry.  Otherwise, soft background music, perhaps 50's & 60's popular music suitable for the occasion, will be provided. There will be no dance floor, but you can still dance if the mood strikes you.   Door prizes and the usual special entertainment by your talented classmates.  Of course we will sing the Alma Mater with words "Greensboro Senior High"..., and, of course, "Stay..., Just a Little Bit Longer."

Sunday, June 11 - get together with classmates for breakfast/brunch before you depart.  For those staying at the O.Henry, a full breakfast in the Pavilion-Cloister Garden area is included with your room.  Others may pay separately.

Travel home safely…!  Stay in touch for plans in 2022.
