The summer before senior year, Sharron, her mother, and at least one brother were in an automobile accident. Sharron spent most of the fall of our senior year in Wesley Long Hospital, keeping up with her studies while she recovered. She always had an admirably positive attitude. I wish I had had a chance to talk with her again after all these years.
The last time I saw Sharon was in the mid 70's in Chapel Hill. She had gotten an MS in Ecology at the Univ of GA and was off to work on environmental impact studies of the Alaskan pipeline. She was a trailblazing ecologist.
